Background:Oral Nexium oral tablet is one of the most common and most expensive medicines used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers. The use of oral Nexium is also associated with potential side effects, including stomach discomfort, ulcers, and bleeding. The primary objective of this study was to determine the price of oral Nexium oral tablet versus the cost of a cheaper, generic, oral Nexium tablet in Ontario, Ontario, Canada. A total of 742 patients (mean age, 61.5 years; 95% CI, 59.5-65.3; N = 4,838) were included in this study. The cost of a generic Nexium oral tablet was estimated at $2.42 per tablet for a 1-tablet tablet, compared to $3.27 per tablet for a 1-tablet tablet. There were no significant differences in the cost between the generic versus the brand oral forms of Nexium. Generic oral Nexium oral tablet is more cost-effective than the brand oral forms and has a significantly lower price. The cost of a generic Nexium oral tablet can be substantially reduced with a lower dosage. The generic oral Nexium tablet costs $8.12 per tablet.
METHODSStudy design and setting:This was a retrospective cohort study using a case-control design. The population consisted of 1,724 patients with chronic esophagitis, who were enrolled in this study.
Study population:Patients were enrolled in this study from Ontario, Ontario, Canada (the province of Ontario). They were followed for a mean period of 2.6 years with a mean follow-up time of 4.3 years. In this study, the primary diagnosis was gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or peptic ulcers, and all patients were followed for a mean period of 5.5 years. Patients with GERD were defined as patients with persistent symptoms for more than 3 months, or with persistent symptoms for more than 1 year.

I did not take the Zantac. I took Zantac for a few weeks and then went to a doctor to see if it would work for me. I did not have a problem taking the Zantac. I have been taking it every day for over a year now. It is not something I would use on an empty stomach. No problems with reflux.
I am on 2 tablets of 20mg of Zantac and am a bit worried about the reflux symptoms. Has anyone had any experience with Nexium 24HR to know the difference? And does anyone know if it helps with the reflux symptoms?
I had gastroesophageal reflux in my 40s and it is very difficult to get the reflux I am experiencing with the Zantac. I am now on 2 days of Zantac and I have tried to take 2 tablets daily. The reflux has not gone away and I have no symptoms. I would like to try the 20mg version.
