During digestion, the proton pump is used to promote a release of lactate from the gut into the blood. This is used to break down new acid in your stomach This pump can also be used to increase the stomach contents to produce protonated acid. The proton pump is also used to treat frequent heartburn (occurs 3 to 4 times daily). Nexium 24HR Tablets work by acidifying your stomach contents to maintain a level of acid in the cells responsible for producing the heartburn. You are at a stable level of acid in your gullet (food for small, medium, or large intestine). Your physician might prescribe esomeprazole 20 mg once daily to treat your frequent heartburn (occurring 3 to 4 times daily). You have experienced dry, red, and scaly-looking skin. Nexium 24HR 20 mg enteric coated tablets for the lasting symptomatic relief of frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux.
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.
Always read the label, use only as directed. Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you notice any of the following and they worry you: nausea or vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, headache, wind, stomach pain, skin rash, itchy skin, dizziness or dry mouth. These side effects are usually mild. Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including any that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop. Some medicines may interfere with Nexium 24HR. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are pregnant unless your doctor says so. Ask your doctor about the risks and benefits involved. It is not known if it is safe for you to take Nexium 24HR while you are pregnant. It may affect your baby. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are breastfeeding. Ask your doctor for more information. It is not known if Nexium 24HR is excreted in breastmilk if you are breastfeeding.

The recommended dosing is one tablet taken to treat frequent heartburn, one tablet for the complete course, as soon as you complete. The recommended duration of action is 4 to 14 days. The time it takes effect will vary from person to person, but it is usually noticeable by your bl instance. Contact your doctor if youd miss a dose and it is less than the usual dosing time.
The most common side effects are: nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, headache, regurgitation, muscle aches or weakness. It is essential to mention these potential side effects to your doctor so that you can appropriately manage them. If they persist or are severe, you should talk to your doctor.

Nexium 24HR is used to treat frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux. Take the tablets at the same time each day. Do not take in more than 2 doses in a 24 hour period. The tablets should be taken with food. Esophageal reabscesses are the most common form of treatment. Always tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking Nexium 24HR. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. However, do not take in sooner than is necessary to have the reabsessions better. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any changes in your feeling or behaviour while taking the medicine. This may be a sign of a new mild stomach pain.
